Video Remote Interpreting.
Face-to-Face Quality.
Any Device.
HIPAA-compliant VRI in 170+ languages delivered over any internet-connected device. Ideal for telehealth appointments, depositions, virtual hearings, and remote business meetings where visual connection matters.
What Is
Video Remote Interpreting?
Video remote interpreting (VRI) connects your provider, patient, or client with a qualified MEJPBS interpreter via live video call. Unlike telephone interpreting, VRI captures facial expressions, lip movements, and body language — enabling richer, more accurate communication for sensitive or complex conversations.
VRI is the standard choice for telehealth consultations, legal depositions, emotional support conversations, and ASL delivery when an on-site interpreter is unavailable. Any device with a camera and internet connection is sufficient — no special software installation required on the patient or client side.
How VRI Works
Schedule or Call On-Demand
Contact MEJPBS at 212-426-6017 or email info@mejpbs.com. Specify the language, context (medical, legal, ASL, etc.), and whether you need scheduled or on-demand service.
Connect via Video
We send a secure video link or dial in to your existing platform. The interpreter joins the video session and identifies themselves before the session begins.
Full Visual Communication
The interpreter relays all communication in real time — with the benefit of visual cues that telephone interpreting cannot capture. Session ends when you disconnect.
Common VRI Use Cases
Telehealth Appointments
Medical consultations, mental health sessions, discharge planning, and specialist referrals via video platform — HIPAA-compliant.
Legal Depositions
Remote depositions and witness examinations where visual contact adds credibility and allows observation of non-verbal cues.
ASL Interpreting
American Sign Language requires visual delivery. VRI makes certified ASL interpreters available without on-site travel.
Virtual Court Hearings
Remote court proceedings, immigration hearings, and tribunal sessions requiring a qualified interpreter on video.
IEP & School Meetings
Parent-teacher and IEP meetings held via video for LEP families — no travel required for the interpreter.
HR & Business Meetings
Remote onboarding, benefits enrollment, performance reviews, and cross-border business calls requiring interpretation.

VRI adds a live video component to interpretation — the interpreter appears on screen, capturing facial expressions, body language, and visual cues that telephone interpreting cannot. VRI is preferred for medical consultations, emotional conversations, ASL delivery, and legal proceedings where visual contact adds accuracy and credibility.
Yes. All MEJPBS medical VRI sessions are conducted through HIPAA-compliant channels. Our interpreters are trained in the Privacy Rule, understand their obligations regarding protected health information (PHI), and never record or retain session content.
